In early 2022, we discovered a brand new rock scoop just as it was hitting the market. It was actually designed for shell hunting, but it turns out to be just about perfect for the kind of coastal rock hunting we do here in the Midwest, especially on the shores of the great lakes. The manufacturer was completely focused on shell hunters, and so we formed a GeoFinds LLC to distribute the Rake and Scoop to the rest of us.

The Rake and Scoop has many great features:

• Its 5″ scoop is great for gathering rocks, shells, sea glass, and even river geodes!.
• It extends to 52″ for a great reach.
• When collapsed to its 24″ travel size, it easily fits in either your carry-on luggage or a backpack.
• At less than 2 lbs, it’s light and easy for people of all ages to carry.
• It’s aluminum handle and foam grip are strong, and make a pretty decent beach walking stick.
• It’s available in five colors: green, blue, pink, teal, and translucent.
• It floats!!!
